Woodburn, Oregon – A Woodburn two year old has an abrasion on his neck after a man ripped off the little boy’s gold necklace while he and his mom were at a strip mall. The boy’s mom called police to say they were standing outside a business when he started to cry and rub his neck. She noticed the necklace was gone. A witness saw  Hispanic man running from the scene and was able to describe him to police.

Another witness at a nearby business told police the suspect was  a past customer and helped them identify him as Garcia Sanchez. They found him at his home on Del Sol Ct. in Woodburn. He admitted stealing the necklace and gave it to police. They returned the necklace to the family and took Garcia to the Marion County Jail where he faces robbery and assault charges.
