29 Count Indictment In Officer Involved K-9 Shoot Out

Written by Rosemary Reynolds on April 30, 2014

Portland, Oregon   A Multnomah County Grand Jury  handed down a 29 count indictment against 20 year old Paul Alan Ropp. Ropp is one of three people arrested following a Burglary, chase, and shoot out in Southwest Portland two weeks ago.  Two of the counts are attempted aggravated murder for trying to kill  Portland police officer  Jeff Dorn.  Dorn is recovering from gunshot wounds to both legs.  His K-9 partner Mick was shot and killed.  His body was found hours later under a hedge in the neighborhood. Ropp was hospitalized  for a short time.  Officer Dorn was able to shoot him in the face.  MICK bit him several times.

Court documents show that Ropp and his two co-defendants had been involved in a week long crime spree ending with burglary of a uniform supply store and the officer involved shooting.  A memorial for MICK will be held Monday May 12, 2014 at the Hillsboro Stadium.
