Written by Pat Boyle on April 24, 2014

Canby, Oregon – Canby Police tried to stop a driver for traffic violations early this morning, but the driver had other ideas. The 43 year old man took off southbound on Highway 99E, speeding through Hubbard, Woodburn and Gervais. Speeds reportedly were 80 mph and above.

Gervias Police laid down spike strips, but the car kept going until the driver missed a turn and crashed into a power pole near Nevada Street. The crash knocked down some power lines. The driver took off on foot, but was found a short time later by a K-9 with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
