PORTLAND — A hip hop concert by Los Angeles rapper School Boy Q at the Crystal Ballroom on Sunday night was stopped after just a half hour when a big crack was discovered in a support beam holding up the second floor.
Security called in Portland Police to help evacuate some 1,500 fans, many who were unhappy about the disruption.
The evacuation affected traffic on West Burnside. Officers helped clear the streets. They say there were no arrests and no property damage.
Crystal Ballroom says it will give fans their money back.
Contractors were called in to put in temporary posts to shore up the beam until it can be replaced. It will allow the Crystal to continue its ballroom concerts this Thursday night.
