Clark County, Washington – 9-1-1  emergency service in Washington State and Northwest Oregon was not working for more than five hours over night. Clark County  Regional Emergency  Agency manager Anna Pendergrass says they noticed the system was down around 1 am and it didn’t start coming back on line  until after 6:15 am this morning.

She says  they identified   Century Link had a problem with a network card in Oregon and it affected the entire state of Washington. Clark County contacted care centers and hospitals and used an alternate number that they posted on WSP reader boards.

Pendergrass says the county’s 9-1-1 system gets about a thousand calls a day. The overnight hours have the lightest call volume.
