Written by Pat Boyle on April 10, 2014

Forest Grove, Oregon – An eight hour standoff at K & S Auto Sales in Forest Grove ended early today with the arrest of a man police say tried to rob the store. He’s been identified as 56 year old Gregory Glanville.

Police got a call around 5 pm Wednesday after someone saw a man with a gun walk into the shop. By the time police got there, shots had been fired by the suspect as he struggled with the owner of the business. The owner, a woman and small child were able to escape, leaving Glanville inside.

The Washington County Tactical Negotiations Team spent several hours trying to negotiate with him, but he refused to surrender. Officers used chemical agents to force him out about 1 am this morning. Glanville’s been taken to the Washington County Jail on charges of attempted murder, robbery, unlawful use of a weapon and felon in possession of a firearm. The business owners suffered minor injuries during his struggle with the suspect. The woman and child were not hurt.
