House is Saved

Written by Mike Turner on April 9, 2014

The Eastmoreland Neighborhood Association buys back a home from a developer who wanted to tear it down.

The idea was to build two houses on the large lot. Neighbors are trying to stop the practice of lot splitting in some areas of Eastmoreland. Association President Robert McCollough says it’s all the fault of a map mistake made over 30 years ago.

McCollough is expected to go before the city council Thursday to argue against what he calls the city’s liberal demolition policy.
