Written by Jeremy Scott on April 9, 2014

FOREST GROVE — One person was killed and another injured when they were hit by a vehicle in front of Joseph Gale Elementary School on Wednesday morning.  It’s the second fatal crash this week involving people in the small Washington County town.

Witnesses say the victims parked their landscaping truck and got out when they were hit by an SUV on 18th Avenue near Maple Street around 7:30.

Angela Johnson ran outside of her home to help and did CPR on the man who was in the worst shape.

“I feel awful, like I didn’t do enough.  Like I need to take another CPR class.  I feel bad for the driver and his family.”

A man in his 40′s did not survive.  The other, said to be in his 20′s was treated and released from the hospital across the street.  Doctors and nurses also came to help the victims.

On Monday, two Pacific University students were killed when they pulled out in front of a box truck on Highway 47 just north of town.
