The Death toll rises to 27 in that mudslide in Oso Washington and more searchers showed up wading through the thick muck and debris.

22 still missing, that’s down from the estimate of 30.  Names of the missing have now been released too. Rescue teams are completely exhausted reinforcements arrive every few hours.  on top of everything else when the works is done for the day cadaver dogs and searchers have to be decontaminated because of the chemicals in the ground.

Emergency responders say it may take months to get through the entire area. the names of the missing were released and a fresh new round of searchers were eager to throw their hands in and do whatever they could to help

The heavy rain that has made the search efforts so difficult is expected to let up the rest of the week. The Fire chief says the scene is so dangerous for volunteer searchers. he hopes people will donate money to the relief effort rather than to try to put themselves in harms way.
