Smart Boy Aims To Win In Big Apple

Written by Steve Leader on March 28, 2014

Kyle Morrison, a junior at South Eugene High School, says reading “Moonwalking With Einstein” two years ago got him interested in competing in a national memory competition in New York City. He’ll be in it Saturday.

Morrison says it takes him only 30-seconds to memorize a 12-digit phone number.  He tells the Register Guard the key to memorizing is to connect numbers, words, or faces with images.

While he says he can memorize phone numbers quickly, Morrison also adds them to his contacts list– just in case.
