Molalla, Oregon -The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is asking people living in the Scotts Mills area to check their storage sheds, barns and other buildings on their property to see if a missing woman from Molalla may have sought shelter there.  A couple told deputies today they saw  62 year old Janet Ernest walking down Butte Creek Road on March 14th. They say she appeared dirty, seemed to be walking ok, but avoided direct contact with them. They identified her after being shown a picture of the missing woman.

The car belonging to Earnest was found on Butte Creek Road near Molalla Sunday. Earnest disappeared March 13th. Earnest is bipolar and off her medications. She could be confused and disoriented.

The Oregon Army National Guard, Portland Mountain Rescue and others are assisting Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office and Molalla Police Department in the search. Foul play is not suspected.
