HAPPY VALLEY, Ore. — A grandmother in Happy Valley says she is facing eviction, if she doesn’t take down a flag displayed in her front window.
Elodia Royce tells KGW that she has always displayed the flag in support of her family members and friends serving in the military.
“They fought for our freedoms and this is a freedom I should have,” Royce told KGW.
Royce says her landlord told her last week by that the flag in her window must come down or she could be evicted, saying they violate the lease agreement.
But Royce says the complex manager approved the flag when she moved in nearly six years ago.
The notice says her flag must come down by Monday or she may face possible eviction.
