22 year old Matthew Bigboy originally told police that he and his uncle Eugene were attacked by two men on the evening of March 9th at a North Portland Max Station. He said they had stabbed his uncle in the back and that he carried him back to his uncle’s apartment where he later died.
Detectives could find nothing on surveillance cameras and now court documents state the suspect changed his story several times before finally confessing to the killing. Matthew Bigboy was arrested Sunday and made his first court appearance to face a charge of murder.
Police say Matthew Bigboy told them he had been drinking and went into a black-out rage and stabbed his uncle several times. Court documents also state he eventually wrote an apology letter and expressed remorse for killing his uncle.
