Portland Kicks Off Spring with Shamrock Run

Written by Christina Kemp on March 16, 2014

Portland, Ore. — Thousands of folks covered in green flocked to the water front this morning to participate in the Shamrock run. Now in its 36th year it serves as a fundraiser for Doernbecher¬†Childrens Hospital. Many of the KXL gang made it out for the run and walk. KXL’s Pat Boyle talked to Amanda Holiday, who was decked out with a green mustache. She told Pat this isn’t the first time she’s been in the race.

“It’s fun and its a good way to kick off spring”, said Holiday.

The mist didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the nearly 37,000 people who turned out. Check out some of the photos of the festivities below.

Great day today! Thank you so much. Is there a way to find out how many runners in each category?
