Naked Man Rescued From Willamette River

Written by Jeremy Scott on March 14, 2014

PORTLAND — Many people want to know how a man with no clothes ended up in the Willamette River Friday morning in need of help.

34-year-old Michael Wilcox was clinging to a log near the shore on the east side between the Fremont and Broadway bridges.

Rescuers with Portland Fire and the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office rescued Wilcox.  He was floating face down in the water and unresponsive when rescuers got to him and is said to be in critical condition.
