From (AP) – Vancouver police say an officer shot an armed man early Thursday as they responded to a report of a large number of people fighting.

When officers arrived at the scene about 1 a.m. at 704 Main Street they found a man with a minor gunshot wound to the foot.

Police were looking for the suspect in that shooting when they confronted the armed man. Police say he ignored commands, and an officer shot him.

He was taken to a hospital with injuries that appear to be non-life-threatening. The weapon was recovered and police say there are no other suspects.
