HAPPY VALLEY, Ore. — A new 5,400 square-foot home went up in flames early Friday morning. The house on Southeast Ridgecrest Road was almost finished. The family had hoped to move in within the next two weeks.
Firefighters with Clackamas Fire District One spent hours snuffing out the blaze. They used axes and chainsaws to open up areas of the roof to get to spaces that were still burning. The whole neighborhood smelled like smoke.
Investigators arrived on scene around 8:00. It’s not known at this time where the fire started or what caused it. Nobody was there at the time.
