Portland, Oregon – A big moment for the Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Transit Bridge today. A concrete closure pour on the west deck of the bridge connected the ramp with land for the first time in South Waterfront.
Tri Met’s Mary Fetsch says the same thing will happen later this month on the east side of the bridge. She says the east and west ends of the bridge will meet in the middle in June.
The bridge deck is 1,729 feet long and is being built in 78 segments and will use 200 tons of concrete. The bridge is the first one to be built over the Willamette River in 40 years and its name will be announced sometime next month.
