Portland, Oregon – Gregg Allman will make his first ever appearance at the Waterfront Blues Festival on Sunday, July 6th. The festival announced its headliners today and says Los Lobos, Los Lonely Boys, Maceo Parker, Lee Fields & The Expressions and John Nemeth & The Bo-Keys will also perform at the four day festival. Rolling Stone calls Allman ” one of the 100 greatest singers of all time.”
Artistic director Peter Damman says they expect to announce several other headliners in the next few weeks. He says its been 10 years since Los Lobos has played at the festival. The festival is a fundraiser for The Oregon Food Bank and is in its 27th year. Canned food donations serve as admission Thursday through Saturday. But a pass must be purchased to gain entry on Sunday. Damman says passes should go on sale in about two weeks.
This is the second largest blues festival in the country and the largest west of the Mississippi. It’s the Oregon Food Bank’s largest annual fundraiser.
