Written by FM News 101 KXL on March 2, 2014

Portland, Ore. — Scattered freezing rain hit parts of the metro area early Sunday. Bringing to a halt some of the MAX trains as lines froze.

Freezing rain and snow were expected east of Cascade Locks as a Winter Weather Warning was in effect for the Central Gorge, says KGW meteorologist Jim Donovan. A freezing rain advisory was scheduled to expire by 1 p.m.

As the work week begins, Donovan says we won’t see dry weather until next weekend. This week highs should reach around 50 and the rain and showers should continue throughout the week.
