Residents of a Hillsboro apartment complex woke up with morning to find a car had come crashing into the building.
Emergency crews responded just before 5:30am, finding a white Buick sedan near the back patio of an apartment on NW Cornell Road at the Verandas apartment complex.
Officials had to remove the roof of the vehicle in order to remove the driver. He was taken by ambulance to Legacy Emmanuel to be treated for a broken leg.
The car pushed a balcony support beam off it’s foundation, but stopped short of crashing into the actual apartment complex. Officials say residents were not evacuated nor were they ever in danger. One resident, who lives directly above the crash site, tells KXL that he slept through the entire ordeal.
Officials have not released a cause for the accident, but say it was a low speed crash.
