County Chair Delivers

Multnomah County Chairwoman Marissa Madrigal delivers the good news about Sun Schools during her State of the County speech.

The program that brings after-school activities and social services to disadvantaged students in Multnomah County and the new plan would add 10 campuses in 2014-15.

Multnomah County and Portland city government would also dedicate permanent funding to every school in the SUN Community Schools program.

$1.5 million would be dedicated to the program would create a total of 80 SUN schools serving 24,000 students.
