According to the Portland police bureau “This morning, Friday February 14, 2014, at 4:34 a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the report of a rock slide on Northwest Cornell Road, between the tunnels.”
Officers have arrived and identified that there was indeed a rock slide that is partially blocking both lanes of traffic. In response to the obstructions, Cornell Road is closed in both directions as a result of the slide.
No injuries have been reported but police recommend Commuters should avoid Cornell Road as the road closure likely will be lengthy. City of Portland crews have been called to the scene to assess the rockslide and begin clean-up efforts but due to hazardous conditions you can expect a slowing of the cleanup efforts.
