Lake Oswego Homes Threatened by Slide

Written by Steve Herman on February 11, 2014

A Lake Oswego family has been evacuated from there home, after a landslide comes close to there residence. The Lake Oswego Fire Department says a water pipe burst near the 17000 block of Upper Cherry Lane. The home the pipe led to had been without water since Saturday, and officials say the pipe could have been saturating the hillside for two days.

Initially three homes were evacuated, and soon after that was down to one as the condition of the hillside improved greatly after the leak was stopped. Lake Oswego Fire Marshal Gert Zoutenvijk says the evacuation is only precautionary at this point.
