Opponents of the Convention Center Hotel call the deal a boondoggle for taxpayers and a big win for the Hyatt Regency.
The County judge has yet to rule on whether or not voters will have their say. The county says it’s their call and not the voters.
But opponents say they have the signatures needed to put it on the ballot.
The deal with Metro would give 18 million to developers and allow Hyatt to pay off 60 million in bonds with lodging taxes.
