MAX Green Line is back in operation. There are limited trains running on the line right now. Trains are coming about every hour. Riders may still want to opt for bus Line 72, which provides service along 82nd Avenue between Clackamas Town Center and NE Killingsworth Street.
Riders should continue to expect delays due to the limited number of trains running. We currently have just more than 20 MAX trains in service but hope to get a few more rolling.
MAX trains are now rolling but with very limited service. Three MAX lines are running.
Trains are running from end of the line in Hillsboro to the end of the line in Gresham. Red line trains are only traveling between Beaverton Transit Center and Gateway Transit Center. Trains are coming roughly every 30 minutes.
Shuttle buses are serving Red Line stations between Gateway and the airport. Riders trying to reach the airport should take either Blue or Red line trains to Gateway and transfer to shuttle buses there.
The MAX Yellow Line is running, including in downtown Portland. This has limited service as well, with trains spaced about thirty minutes apart.
The MAX Green Line is not yet in service. Crews continue working to restore the Green Line and improve all MAX service as the day progresses and temperatures hopefully warm.
This is the second time in MAX history that the system has had to stop. Back in 2008, MAX trains stopped running for about 25 hours. We want to thank the rail operators who spent the night in trains, which also allowed folks who were out in the conditions to stay warm. Our maintenance crews and field staff have done an heroic job to get the MAX system rolling again.
Buses are running where possible. About 20 bus lines have some sort of detour. Buses are running on chains so running slowly (no more than 25 mph).
