Here in town we’ve been enjoying the mild winter weather but up at the mountain they need the rain to re-appear.
The snow pack measurements are in and Mt. Hood is way below normal levels. Julie Koeberle and her team recorded the level at 38 percent of normal. But it’s not all bad news.
“The best news that we found is a lot of new snow. About a foot of new powdery snow. A lot of happy smiling skiers”, Koeberle says.
We need a lot of rain and snow in the forecast to get those levels back to where they should be. The next three months would need an increase in precipitation of 175 percent. A jump that large hasn’t happened in the last thirty years.
