Written by Mike Turner on January 27, 2014

Eight Portland area men are charged with violations of the Mann and Travel Acts. The US Attorney accuses them of being pimps for prostitutes that are recruited in Portland and sent to other states to sell their bodies. Prosecutors say they take on all the risk and get very little of the money. One of those indicted is Mark Miles who us accused of taking Ivy Harris to Hawaii for prostitution. She was later found murdered. A US Marine is scheduled to stand trial in that case.
