Liam Pelot says his 10 year old son Wilson will walk again and he’s not paralyzed. But mostly he’s thankful his son is alive. Wilson tumbled 50 feet at Silver Falls Park on Sunday when a damaged railing that he was leaning against gave way.

Wilson’s injuries include a spinal injury, lung punctures, fractures, internal bleeding, cuts and bruises. He could be released from OHSU as soon as this week.

Meanwhile parks officials say they will now use more prominent signage to warn hikers of dangerous spots that need to be fixed.
