Monday was a windy day for sure, especially in the west end of the Columbia River Gorge where an 87 mph gust was officially clocked.  And an amateur says they got one at 107 mph.

We talked to one man Mike Lamb who’s family took a scenic trip today and stopped in at Vista House at Crown Point.  He says when they opened their car door a gust of wind literally picked up their dog and blew it 2 feet back.  He says they could see the car next to them moving around from the strong winds.

KGW Chief Meteorologist Matt Zaffino says that area is notorious for high winds because of the natural pinch and pressure changes that cause east winds in the first place.  He says the winds around Portland should die down for Tuesday and Wednesday then return towards the end of the week.
