SUBLIMITY, Ore. — A 10-year-old boy fell from a trail at Silver Falls State Park on Sunday afternoon.
Wilson Pelot from Portland was hiking with his father near South Falls and stopped for a break. He was leaning against a railing that gave way and he fell about 40′ down a hill, landing in shallow water.
His father climbed down and carried his son across a creek where they waited for medical crews. The boy is under intensive care.
Pelot’s dad extended his gratitude to parks staff and emergency responders for their care.
