Donald Sheldon worries he won’t live long enough to give testimony in his lawsuit against a Longview nursing home where his wife of 69 years, Norma, froze to death in December.

The Daily News reports the required midnight bed check was not done. Norma wasn’t noticed missing until after 1am.  She died of hypothermia on a freezing night.  Her body was found in an enclosed courtyard at Canterbury Gardens.

The nursing home, for Alzheimer’s patients, says it’s working with Washington State regulators on fixing its issues.

Donald Sheldon is almost 90.  He says many of his friends died shortly after losing their spouses.  He’s asking a court to speed things up so he can testify in his lawsuit against the care home.
