Oregon Can Give Dropouts a Second Chance

Portland’s City Club says the state needs to pay more attention to giving students a second chance. Oregon is fourth in the nation for high school dropouts and the state’s current GED systems is not working for many of them. A club-commissioned committee has recommended that Oregon needs to fund a new system of GED preparation and testing and should subsidize all qualified students who need to get a high school diploma.
