OAK GROVE, Ore. — A man who’s not allowed to have a gun because he’s a felon is back in jail after the gun he was carrying went off on the line 33/McLoughlin bus just before noon on Friday.

42-year-old Troy Robanske of Gresham had the gun in a case.  When he reached inside, it went off as the bus traveled near Concord Road.  The bullet hit the floor, but nobody was injured.  There were about 20-25 passengers on board.

The driver stopped at the next stop and Robanske got off.  He ditched the .380 semi-automatic firearm in the bathroom of a business.  When confronted by officers, he told them he didn’t have a gun, only bullets.

It’s unclear whether the safety was on or what Robanske was reaching for.
