We’re learning more information about a Beaverton man missing in the fog and the cold overnight.

Beaverton Police are going door-to-door this morning and searching through backyards. They are trying to find a missing and endangered man.  Police say 69-year-old Russell Welsh may be confused and not know the area because he hasn’t lived there very long. He moved to a group home in the area back in October.

Welsh told a some of the residents that he was going out to have a cigarette around 2 p.m. yesterday and they haven’t seen him since. Police have been looking for him since they got the call at about 4:15 p.m.

Police are searching a mile radius around where Welsh has been staying. He has no family or friends in the area. Right now police have no idea where he could have gone.

Trimet is helping the effort. They are checking all the bus video in the area to see if he got on.

Welsh is 5-foot-10 with gray hair and wears a back brace. He walks with a shuffle and could be per-dementia.
