A Vancouver mom thought her little boy might have asthma. What she learned from doctors was much more severe.
Mandy Campbell took her little guy Alex to the emergency room. He could barely breathe.
She told The Columbian they kept bringing more machines in to check his oxygen levels.
“They kept saying, well this one must not be working, this one must not be working because if that was really his numbers he won’t be standing here.”
Soon doctors told her that her son had a rare blood vessel disorder. When his blood passes through his lungs they don’t receive enough oxygen. The recommendation. A double lung transplant.
“We don’t really know what to expect. We don’t know how long we are going to wait for a transplant.”
This week Alex heads to Texas where he will be evaluated and begin his wait on the transplant list.
