89-year old Mugging Victim Gets Justice

Written by Steve Herman on January 14, 2014

Portland Police say they arrested the woman responsible for mugging and beating an 89-year old woman outside her Southeast Portland home. The woman you’ve come to know as great grandmother Marge still has bruising all over her body from the attack last week.

Police arrested 33-year old Tiffany Denise Smith at her Southeast Portland home Tuesday afternoon. They also say Smith is responsible for stealing a 90-year old’s purse in December.

Smith is no stranger to high profile arrests. Smith is the same woman who was arrested for allegedly having sex with an on-duty Oregon State Police Detective in a vacant lot for money.

But now prostitution isn’t her only problem. Portland Police SGT. Pete Simpson says Tiffany Denise Smith is being booked into jail for robbery, assault, burglary and identity theft.

Smith’s victim Marge is happy knowing that no one else will have to go through what she has, “I’m so happy that they caught her, I really am. Maybe she won’t get a chance to hurt anyone else,” she told our news partner KGW.

Investigators are looking into other cases to see if Smith is responsible for other attacks. She’s expected to make her first court appearance Wednesday.
