Skiers and Snowboarders can rejoice. The weekend storm brought plenty of snow to Mount Hood. Hundreds of people already made there way up to the mountain today to enjoy the fresh powder. It caused a major traffic headache on Highway 35 near Government Camp this morning.

The conditions were not ideal Saturday, with high winds and icy roads. Timberline was forced to close all of its lifts due to high winds.

“It’s a little slick on the roads. We tried to go sledding up at Minute Pass but friends we were riding with didn’t have the proper snow tires. So we turned around and came down here where they could make it”.

It’s been a slow season up at the mountain with little snow during this dry winter. Mt. Hood Meadows and Timberline hardly had enough now to open lifts on Christmas.

This weekends storm brought buckets of snow. Mt. Hood Meadows said it was getting as much as 2 inches of snow per hour. The resorts snow base doubled. Its now over 50 inches.
