Clark County Trying to Halt Pot Sales

The Clark County Chair does not want pot sold at local retailers.

“It’s going to be very difficult. Me personally, I wont support it”, says Tom Mielke.

Mielke has his mind made up on a few things. He doesn’t like how tax money from the pot sales wont be seen by the county. And he wants to wait until the federal government decriminalizes marijuana to allow sales in the county. For now retailers like Mary Jane’s House of Glass are being patient.

“(We’re) a little discouraged but that wont stop us from our ball that’s already rolling right now. The best we can do is just keep waiting and just be happy that we can be apart of it some how.”

They are one of 156 retailers that applied for just 15 licenses to sell pot in the county.
