Joanie Ellis has her special keepsake back. It’s a pair of ceramic booties celebrating the birth of her son, Cory. He’s all grown up now, with his own son and family. But the booties have been hung on the family Christmas tree for 28 years.
Troop 728 found the ornament when they were going through the Christmas trees donated to them for recycling.
The troop contacted KGW. They put it up on their Facebook page. Over 300 thousand hits later Joanie was found and the booties were returned today.
Scout Master Brian Horine says they collect about 40 ornaments each year but this one stood out.
