Robber Picks The Wrong House In St. Johns

Written by Pat Boyle on January 7, 2014

PORTLAND — A guy who broke into a house in St. Johns early Monday evening probably wished he would have picked another to target.

When he broke down the front door and demanded money, a 20-year-old man who lives there grabbed the guy’s shotgun and shoved him down the stairs.  The intruder hit his head on the way down and knocked himself out.

The victim and his mother’s boyfriend kept an eye on 38 year-old Joshua McCoy until police arrived at the home on North Tyler Avenue.

McCoy is charged with robbery and burglary.  He was treated at the hospital before being taken to the Multnomah County Jail.  Police say the victims don’t know him.
