Santa has come and the gifts are unwrapped…Now the Christmas tree is coming down. Did you know that trees and wreaths can go straight in the recycle.
It may only be the day after Christmas but people are already tossing their tree to the curb. Patrick Morgan is the Recycling Information Specialist with Metro. He says if you put it out whole you may find an extra charge to your bill. But there is a way to get around that.
“Sometimes if your put it into your bin chopped up that’s going to be free as yard debris pick-up”, Morgan says.
The trees head to a wood chipper to become compost material. So double check that all lights and ornaments get taken off before the tree gets put out.
