December 26th: The Shopping Continues

While the holidays may be winding down, the shopping continues.

A new survey conducted by RetailMeNot.com and The Omnibus Company found that 79% of consumers plan to shop the end-of-year sales after the holidays are over.

It’s something retailers are hoping for, as sales have been down this year.  Some blame that on the fact that there is one less week between Thanksgiving, the unofficial start of the shopping season, and Christmas.  Retailers are also hoping that deeper discounts of 50 to 70 percent off will entice shoppers to brave the crowds.

And while many might be out looking for deal, many will be returning items.  The number one most returned category are electronics, followed closely by clothing.

The shopping continues and shoppers will never stop hunting for sales and special offers. To be honest, shop at the last minute, and shop the end-of-year sales after the holidays are over are smart ways to save. in order to increase their sales, retailers have to offer big deals for smart shoppers. It’s a win-win situation. :)
