A high-speed chase that began in Vancouver ended in North Portland when an officer may have rammed the suspect’s pickup. The 27-year-old suspect and two women in the truck were taken into custody.

The police officer was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police are investigating if the officer used deadly force in stopping the vehicle.

Portland Police Sergeant Pete Simpson says a “ram” is use of deadly force but it’s not sure whether the officer used that tactic.

The suspect is wanted for parole violation and alleged involvement in a white supremacist gang in connection with an investigation called “Operation White Christmas.”
