A group of fishermen made a rough return Saturday after spending days out at sea. The 37-foot boat Nat became stranded near South Beach State Park when the boat was making its return to Newport.
The captain was hurt after the boat stopped suddenly when it ran over shallow water. The three crewmen were treated for hypothermia after they swam to shore. A local contractor pulled the damaged craft onto the beach Sunday. The Coast Guard safely removed the remaining 700-gallons of diesel fuel.
