Salem Woman Gets 25 Years for Producing Child Porn

Written by Steve Herman on December 12, 2013

PORTLAND (AP) — A Salem woman convicted with her husband of producing child pornography videos of two young girls has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

The Oregonian reports that Michelle Lee Freeman was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Portland.

Earlier this month, Michael Freeman was sentenced to 50 years.

Both earlier pleaded guilty to production of child pornography.

They were arrested in September 2012 after federal investigators issued a nationwide alert asking for help identifying a woman who appeared in pornographic images with the children.

Facebook friends of the couple saw the photo and the Freemans contacted police and turned over evidence of their child pornography production.

The newspaper says Michelle Freeman apologized before her sentencing, saying she hopes the two girls can heal from the pain she and her husband caused. She said she wished she had stopped her husband when she first learned of the abuse.
