PORTLAND — A PSU student was punched in the face when a man tried to steal her backpack on the Portland State University Campus. This happened Wednesday night according to campus security.

Alerts were sent out to all students.  It’s the fourth time a woman has been attacked on campus since April.

The woman was walking in the 600 block of Southwest Montgomery Street when she was approached by the  suspect at 7:30.  He demanded her backpack and punched her.  She turned and punched him right back in the face.  He took off running.

“If I saw him attack that woman, I would have knocked the holy blank out of him,” said one male student.

Another female student said, “Good for her.  I think I would have done the same thing.”

The attacker is described as a white man in his mid 20’s about 5’8″, wearing a puffy green coat.  His face could be injured.

Anyone with information should call the PSU Campus Safety Office at 503-725-4407.
