Vancouver, Washington – A Vancouver woman who tweets traffic tie ups she hears on the scanner tweeted about her own husband’s deadly car wreck and didn’t know it until a few hours later.
Carin Johnson uses the name scancouver on Twitter and when she realized the deadly crash on I 205 was on her husband’s route home, she shared her fears in a number of tweets.
Two troopers came to her door to tell her that her husband was killed in the crash. She then tweeted “It’s him. He died.” Thousands tweeted her their condolences and sympathy.
Johnson told The Columbian newspaper in an interview last year that she’s been listening to scanner traffic since college and while scanner traffic can be morose, she tries to maintain a positive attitude.
