A Clash Over Marijuana

Governor Gregoire's plea comes on the heals of a federal crackdown on the 16 states that allow the use of medical marijuana like Washington and Oregon. In California, the Feds have raided marijuana dispensaries that have been operating under state law for up to 15 years. In the letter to the DEA, the governors wrote: "The divergence in state and federal law creates a situation where there is no regulated and safe system to supply legitimate patients who may need medical cannabis." In 2009, the American Medical Association came out in favor of reviewing pot's classification, arguing more research still needs to be done. What do you think? Should the Feds allow marijuana to be dispensed for medicinal purposes? We'll talk about it with our legal expert this morning on KXL.
