Winds are nearing 60 mph off the coast of Lincoln City from a storm pushing inland Sunday night. Winds could reach as high as 80 mph in the mountain passes and accumulate nine-inches of rainfall. The valley forecast shows wind gusts could reach 40 mph and experience flooding from several streams catching three inches of valley rain. Johnson Creek is expected to be two-feet above flood stages by Monday evening. Motorists traveling over the coastal mountain passes should be aware for a high possibility of down trees and be on the look out for quickly rising water on the roadways. The stormy weather is expected to last for at least a week, including a wet Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Mt. Hood is also expected to be blanketed by snow mid-week if the resorts have not already opened by Thanksgiving weekend.
